Philosophy

Josh believes lasting change happens in the presence of safety, connection, and understanding. At the core of his work is the belief that relationships—both with others and with ourselves—are the foundation for healing. When emotional experiences are understood and supported, people gain the freedom to respond differently, connect more deeply, and move forward with resilience.

He provides a collaborative, non-judgmental space where teens, individuals, couples, and families can explore the patterns that keep them stuck and work toward meaningful, sustainable change. His role is not to “fix,” but to walk alongside clients as they build insight, emotional safety, and confidence in themselves and their relationships.

 Work with Couples & Families

Josh’s work with couples and families is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based, attachment-focused approach that helps partners and family members better understand emotional needs, reactive cycles, and moments of disconnection.

He supports couples and families in:

  • Improving communication and emotional responsiveness
  • Repairing trust and navigating relational injuries
  • Strengthening attachment bonds and emotional safety
  • Parenting challenges and complex family dynamics
  • Rebuilding connection after periods of distance or estrangement

The goal is not simply better communication, but deeper emotional understanding, secure connection, and lasting relational change.

 Work with Individuals

When working with individuals, Josh approaches therapy through an attachment-informed lens, integrating Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and EMDR to support healing at both emotional and nervous-system levels.

 He helps individuals address:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Trauma and unresolved life experiences
  • Repeated unwanted patterns or emotional blocks
  • Relational wounds that impact current functioning
  • Identity, grief, and life transitions

EFIT helps individuals understand how attachment experiences shape emotions and relationships, while EMDR allows for the safe processing of distressing memories and experiences. Together, these approaches foster emotional integration, self-compassion, and resilience.

 Experience & Emphasis

Josh earned his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and is fully licensed as a Professional Counselor. He is trained in EFT, EFIT, and EMDR, and uses evidence-based practices tailored to each client’s unique needs.

His emphasis extends beyond symptom relief to building long-term emotional and relational skills—helping clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and the capacity to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and connection.

Personal Life

Josh values meaningful connection both personally and professionally. He is deeply committed to building authentic relationships and offering support that is grounded, present, and lasting.

He is the proud father of five incredible children and has been married to his best friend and wife for over 13 years. Outside of the therapy room, Josh enjoys cooking as a creative outlet, playing board games with family and friends, and traveling whenever possible.
