Emphasis
Jen specializes in working with children and teens—especially those who are neurodivergent or facing behavioral or developmental challenges. She creates a safe, playful space because she believes that when a child is bored in therapy, nothing sticks. By blending creative tools—like play therapy, the Zones of Regulation, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to strengthen secure attachments —Jen helps young clients reduce their anxiety, depression, and troubling behaviors. These modalities Jen specializes in gently soothe the nervous system, making healing not only possible, but lasting and meaningful.
Personal Life
Jen’s life has woven a deep, intimate understanding of the human experience—rooted in her own journey through childhood trauma, domestic violence, parenting children with special needs, and navigating anxiety, depression, and addiction in loved ones. She brings that empathy into every session, creating a calming, trusting environment.
At home, Jen is married to her best friend of 16 years and is mom to a lively crew: sons aged 14 and 11, a daughter aged 8, a dog named Poppy, and four quirky chickens—Diesel, Peanut, Whiskers, and Jolene. She loves cheering her kids on in sports, playing tennis herself, and embraces a slow-paced life. When time allows, you’ll find her baking sourdough bread, indulging in historical‑western romance novels, and dreaming of her future mini‑farm complete with chickens and a milk cow.
