About East Valley Family Therapy

Spencer Mask, Intern

Queen Creek Office and online

Spencer works with individuals and couples who feel stuck in patterns that leave them disconnected, frustrated, or unsure how to move forward. He believes that meaningful change happens when people feel understood, supported, and able to make sense of their experiences in a deeper way.

He takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from attachment-based models, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), humanistic approaches, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. Spencer works collaboratively with clients to better understand their story and move toward greater clarity, connection, and alignment in their lives.

With couples, Spencer helps partners identify the negative cycles they get caught in and guides them toward greater understanding, emotional safety, and reconnection.

With individuals, he focuses on building insight, strengthening emotional awareness, and supporting lasting, meaningful change.

Clients often come to Spencer to:

  • Break out of repetitive or frustrating patterns
  • Improve communication and emotional connection
  • Navigate life transitions and relationship challenges
  • Align their values, beliefs, and actions
  • Develop practical tools while addressing deeper emotional needs

As a pre-licensed therapist, Spencer is actively engaged in ongoing education and clinical supervision to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care. He brings a diverse background in education, funeral services, law, and sales management, which helps him connect with clients from a wide range of experiences.

Spencer earned his Bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University–Idaho and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of the Cumberlands.

Outside of the therapy room, Spencer enjoys being outdoors, mountain biking, lifting weights, and reading books focused on meaning and growth. He values deep conversations, new experiences, and making the most of time with his wife and daughter.
